The Ottawa Valley Off-Roaders is pleased to announce the 2010 OVO's Spring Fever which is set for Friday evening on May 21h, Saturday the 22th, Sunday the 23th and Monday the 24th. The organizers of Spring Fever would like to Welcome you and hope you acome out and appreciate the time and effort we put into this event to make it better and more exciting each year!
Please make sure to read the whole description below so you understand the event… Primitive camping is the same as previous years. We will be camping-out at the Calabogie Dam (Mountain Chutes Dam) grounds once again, so make sure you read the directions on how to get there!!!

For 2010 we will be hosting the same format as 2009 but with some new pieces and challenges.
- Kicking the weekend off will be a night run on Friday Wabun Lake. Departing the camp area at 7:45pm sharp. This is stock friendly, but has something for all types of vehicles! Note you must have registered and gone through vehicle registration prior to going on the run, so arrive with enough time take get that done.
- On Saturday we will host the primary event, which is a basically the same as 09. Read on below for details on what to expect for the main event. It will start following Drivers meeting at 9am.
- Trail run to Quinn Lakes and Craig Lake on Sunday. Departing the camp area at 9:00am sharp.
- Open day from trail runs - Monday is usually impromptu and those going will determine the trail and times.
Saturday AS part of the event we will host the RTI competition, then in the evening a Bonfire, Awards, Raffle and stories of the day.

The night run to Wabun Lake, this is a stock friendly trail with obstacles for all levels, with the additional night factor this should make for an exciting ride. The trail starts about 10 min drive from camp and we can make it as long or short as the group want.
The main event on Saturday as mentioned is basically the same format as past years. It will be based on a TEAM effort again consisting of three trucks of any description or modification. You may group yourself and let the officials know at time of registration or if you do not have a group, would prefer to wait we will assign groups as people register (the day of). The event will take place starting at the damn (Camping area) and primarily head down the power lines. The event will consist of both Checkpoints (similar to last year but with some new twists and themes) and flags from the legacy capture the flag events. During registration you will get a map book, with details of where the challenges are, and a brief description of what the challenge is. The focus of the checkpoints are for you to work with your team to earn as many points as possible as defined by the rules. Each checkpoint will be based on 30 points maximum per truck and each Flag will be 5 points max per truck. You will be free to travel in any order to any checkpoint or flag to gather points as you and your team feel fit. So plan your day well as your strategy will play a heavy role in obtaining the maximum points. You will be working with your team at the checkpoints and at the flags. At the end of the day, the team with the most total points will be deemed the winner! The day will be the same as previous years, with the checkpoints and flags being pulled starting at 3:45pm. You are not intended to be able to complete everything, so choosing your course is part of the challenge.
Saturday upon return the ramp competition will be held. This is mostly for fun, but a prize for the top 3 will be in place. We will have a 23 degree ramp on-site. This wil also count towards the days challenge.

On Sunday the Quinn Trails are moderate to difficult in nature while the Craig Lake is more tight and more difficult and designed for smaller more build vehicles. We will ensure a stock friendly trail will be run for those who want something on the lighter side.
Upon registration at the Camping area all trucks will go through a vehicle inspection (By the OVO safety officers) checking for safety items as described in the requirements page. Your vehicle must be plated and carry insurance! OPP do occasoinally check the area and will fine those not legal. We travel on public roads at times.
Of course every event needs a little social interaction! This will be a camping weekend and primitive at that. Once you get back to camp and crack open a cold one. Keys get pocketed! (DRINKING AND DRIVING DON'T MIX! and won't be tolerated) . For those a little less adventurous; hotel/motel accommodation is available within 1/2 - 1 hours drive from the Calabogie Chute Dam camp grounds in the Town of Calabogie.
The event will cost $40 per truck, same as last year. To register go to the registration page. Payment can be made at the event registration or in advance by contacting Tim Fitzgerald (details below). With advance registration received and paid on or before April 21st your name will be entered into a draw for a prize.
