Justin Lalonde, Marek and I were going to go the Thanksgiving weekend as Justin can't go the weekend of the 15th. So Marek is out because he was called into work and we don't want to go with just 2 trucks. I know Brad can't make Thanksgiving and for other people it might be to hard to do with family on that weekend. We are going to have our meals with our families the following weekend.
We discussed the fact that it is a lot of money to just go down for 2 days of wheeling and really rushed at that on a normal weekend. The holiday weekend if you can get that Friday off makes for a rushed Thursday night drive (8.5 hours for me in the bus, 6 hours for most people from Ottawa area) but then 3 relaxing days of wheeling with all day Monday to drive back.
What we are looking for is at least 1 more truck committed so that we have the extra safety factor built in on a bad rollover, stuck or even trying to get back out with 2 broken trucks, (although I suppose you could go with 5 and have them all break too).
For those of you with moderate trucks or even stock just to let you know look at the park maps and you will see that 90% of it is green trail and 90% of the trucks there were stock or not far from it and the majority of the blacks and reds are loops that are all close to the main trails, like throw a rock and hit each other close. You would just have to watch how you wheel if you can't trailer and BTW I have a dolly that can be borrowed.
Has anybody been sitting in the bush? Git'er done!
