Recovery strap

Princess Auto just had a sale on a 2"x20ft recovery with a max vehicle weight of 9,000lbs and a breaking strength of 18,000lbs. I bought one....but haven't unwrapped it. My truck's empty weight is 4300lbs (it can carry 2200lbs). Is the strap sufficient? I wanted it in the truck just in case, but I can return it if I have to.

Thanks for your help!

general rule of a thumb for winches and recovery straps - your GVW X1.8, to make it simple I usually calculate it times two.

That's the right one for your truck. I've heard some people say to go with the bigger 3" strap because they're stronger, but they'll also stretch less (that's right, a recovery strap needs to stretch) and put more stress on the mounting points on the truck.
