thanks for the info. well I got a lot of planning to do and thinking. the body on my 4 runner is pretty beat up and ive wheeled it hard for the last 3 years.
also its my daily driver which makes me love Toyota all that much.
maybe a 14 bolt or 60 for the rear but ill have to shorten it because I think the width is just perfect right now. so between another diff, locker, gears. and shorting it which would mean axleshafts I don't know if it would be worth it all.

ill just keep looking for a set already built

If you do decide to go 14B, remember that you can get down to about 63" WMS to WMS without cutting or new shafts with the C&C axle. DS and PS are also different lengths, so you could go 2 short shafts and get narrower still with off the shelf parts.

I vote to try and stay Toy based, though.

⬆thank you.
I was thinking the same thing.
I'm only running 35 " tires so I'm baffled. Cab and chasis 14.bolt is bproberly the best idea though I have 6 bolt Toyota beadlocks.
Maybe a machine shop could 're drill another bolt pattern.

well its changed over and after too much money this is what I got now.
a professionally set up g2 gear set with a custom housing that I had got years ago and did not use. I modified it a bit and hopfully this can last at least for the summer

Nice pics. Those are some beefy mods :)
See the top pic....I did notice that the bottom overload leaf was fully up against the rest of the leafs....that translated into a stiff ride. Also, yours has a slight gap on the left spring perch...a shadow....like as if the perch is no longer level or flat....like it has a curve on the top surface. I had that going on with my old 84 longbed. I welded on a straight piece of 3/8" thick flat-stock. Also, as visible on the top pic, I see the residual gear oil under the right perch....I had that going on with mine also....basically the axle wrap and over-torquing of the u-bolts crushed my axle housing and caused oil to ooze out. Had to mig-weld the crack and beef up the surrounding are.

edit----Also, in the 2nd pic I see a shot of your flat plates used to tighten up the u-bolts up with.....Have you noticed that the u-bolts keep loosening up? That the flat plates seem to have alot of bow in them when tightened? They need to be twice as thick as you have....and they need bracing on the front and back sides. Been there done it too ;)

thanks for the comments. ill try to get beefier plates though the u bolts never got loose with those. as for the ride I don't notice anymore, its just normal now. the spring perches did collapse into the housing a bit and oil was leaking that why I did the housing change.

well if I have anymore problems its 14 bolt and done..
