14 bolt spindle nut socket??

For those using 14 bolts... Do you use a spindle nut to tighten her down or to you just use a screwdriver or something like that and hammer the nut on by hitting it on one the slots. Then when tight enough, just back it off enough to insert the slot key to hold it in place?

Am at that point of getting ready to tighten up the rear, gonna need to address this..

Trying to remember what I did. Does the d60 spindle nut socket fit?

On JP's we just used a screw driver and a hammer, but on mine I use a socket - when I first tore mine down I discovered that the socket I had used for my dana 44 worked for the 14 bolt too - the one that I need to use for my 60 does not work for the 14 bolt. All dana 60's are not created equal though, when I was looking for the 60 spindle nut I discovered that depending on year there were different sizes. My year, 1985< and being a HD version required a bigger socket - I have read though that "regular" dana 60 sockets will work for the 14 bolt.
