Well there were always people that referred to them as a cherocar. But now they are. Looks like nothing more then a Subaru with ford escape drive train options.

No mention about a diesel engine... That it's suppose to share with the 1/2 ton Ram.

i thought the diesel option was only going to be for the JK and grand cherokee in the jeep line-up, that would be a great option if it gets offered in the entire jeep line though.

9spd = Multiple planetaries I suppose. The Ram is currently offered with an 8spd. This must be the current trend/solution to maximize fuel economy.

A transversely mounted 6cyl diesel? I highly doubt it.

Oops my bad! I didn't realize this was just a Cherokee... Not a grand Cherokee...

Word on the street says that the 2014 grand Cherokee and 1/2 ton ram will have the opportunity to both have a diesel engine... I can't remember what tho...
