95 YJ - Dana 30 and 35 & transfer case fluid type or suggestions ??

Hello all,

I am planning to clean and replace all oils in both my front and rear diffs and my transfer case and I am not too sure of what I should buy or how much I should buy...

Some people so to go to synthetic and the other half say " stay away ". I would prefer not to use synthetic because I am pretty sure that the fluid in it right now is NOT.

I have a 95 YJ with original front dana 30 diff and rear dana 35 and original transfer case.

If someone could let me know what I should get...

Your TC should be a 231 and as such it take about 1L of ATF, dexronII or ATF+ compatible. I just bought a pint today at Cdn Tire for about $5.00.

The diffs would take gear oil, fill up to the bottom of the inspection/fill plug. Also, gear oil stinks something nasty.

I'm not sure about the YJ's but the Tj's came with 75w140 synthetic oil in the diffs. Get 4L's and get some limited slip aditive. Dodge recomends you run that. i would double check that the yj's are the same but being a 95, chances are they will be.
