Air File?

Is there such a thing as an air file? Something for filing that runs on compressed air? I'm not looking for a mini die grinder.

Looked online at CTC and PA - CTC has nothing and PA's web site sucks so who knows...

That looks more like planer - but I guess it would work. Might be too large/bulky for what I have in mind.

They have a little hand held belt sander that may work better.

Home brew caliper brackets - 3/8: steel plate with lots of changing radiuses.

Picked up some more bits for the die grinder at lunch. I guess I'll stick with that and the hand file for now.

not sure what you need to sand on your caliper brackets, rust? flat surface?
I'm forming the brackets from clean, flat plate stock so I'm working with steel directly.

I need something that will remove steel at a rate slower than a grinder and faster than some kind of an abrasive paper.

oh yeah I saw some at PA the other day. not sure on the quality of these mills (and they are small too) but would make for a descent hobby mill. the price was like 800 bucks

$800 eh?

I think I'll spend $80 on some good quality hand files. :)

Dragging this back from the dead, PA does sell an air belt sander...it might be along the lines of what you were looking for. Page 154 in their online cataloge.
