Hey guys!;)

I can say that mentally, physically I am ready...but it's my first go at it so I was curious, what do all of you do to prep for the event. Im not talking about Food, beer, sleeping bag, tent, beer..mmm...but I mean mechanically. I am a little worried about breaking something, and not having the parts or tools to replace/fix..so its making me a little nervous. I dont want to leave my Jeep there..

So far I have..

As long as you've done regular maintenance and you have a spare tire then you're good to go. You can't have a spare of everything so don't worry about it, if something does go BOOM the people there will help you get it fixed or at least get it home.

Don't worry we would never leave someone on the trail. we would get you back someway or another.

I bring whatever spare parts I have with me to any given trail ride / event. But like Richard said, you can't have a spare for everything, and some things just aren't practical as a trail fix, so leave those types of spares at home. I try to bring enough tools and gear to keep myself self sufficient... but I also have stopped bringing stuff I know other people will have (like a hi-lift). In a nutshell, bring what you think will might need. If your tranny has a leak, bring more than one quart of spare fluid ;)

The advantage of spring fever is you do what you want, and don't do what you don't want. There is always the possibility of breaking your stuff, and like everyone has said, you cannot take everything with you, if you have some of the smaller common items with you that is most important. Most important is basic tools to do simple work, spare tire and stuff to get you unstuck, like a strap and clevises. Don't put to much worry into this weekend, but plan to have a good time, and bring lots of bug juice, and a bug jacket :) Spare fluids, duct take, zip ties, hose clamps are always good things to have with you, those smaller things which hold your broken stuff together :) and of course we will never leave anyone stuck on the trails.

Marc,

For your truck, one of the things other people might not have that comes in handy is a 13mm 12-point socket. If you bust a shaft (or ring gear/pinion) in the front, you'll be able to remove the unit bearings and inner shafts.

I'll have a u-joint press, oxy acetylene with three heads and a cutting torch, and a pile of other tools. Talked to Logan earlier, sounds like tools will be pretty well covered. Might bring the 80 cu ft nitrogen tank for air tools if I have room. Not much excuse with the fullsize hoe.
