Many people ever made these things?? I figure if I was wrecking springs with an open diff, the welded rear will demolish them!!!! Here's an image of what I'm going to fab today. Anty critiques/helpful advice??

The basic design is fine, just add webbing or pipes joining the top and bottom bars to give strenght when you hit it.

Well it made it thru the QUINN today. One slow leak and a popped bead on the rock pile at the dam, but the bar made it thru without a scratch. I decided to fore-go the gusset as I ended up using 1.5" DOM with 0.185 wall. It might be a little overkill but it was handy!! I think I may add a plate gusset to the axle tube brackets but over all I'm very happy with the outcome. Here's a pic of the frame plate at the cross member.
