Any interest in running Scotchline in Nov?

As the subject says. I like to get out there 1 - 2 times a year, haven't been yet this year so thought I'd post up. I'm good to schedule for any weekend in November except this coming oct/nov split weekend.

I'd be interested aswell but again, how challenging is it? I'm in a stock 98 Cherokee. All I have really is a front bumper.

Well... If it still looks all messed up like that I'm not going out there. I'll wait until it has more time to heal. However, the parts that aren't completely screwed up do look fun. The quarry part looks like it would be fun to run around in.

If you want to do this on Sunday I'd be happy to go out. The only thing I'm worried about is destroying my steering or putting a hole in my diff cover lol.

I know a way of not destroyng anything and also keeping your truck clean - it is called "mall crawling"
Honestly man, and dont get me wrong here but if you are gonna constanly worring of not damaging you truck you would better stay home.
IMO the offroading is for people who are not worried for such small things very much.

I dont mind damage, but 300$ damage and 2-3 days work fixing is not on my agenda.

I'd be up for it, just not doing any ridiculous stuff that could compromise my ride.

Don't forget lads hunting season opens this coming Monday and runs for most of the month off and on.

This trail is included in a hunting area as well? wow I can't catch a break. I guess I'm just going to run B&D trail then.

I don't think this one is in a hunting area as it's surrounded by farmers fields and houses (at one end at least). You're probably safe to run this one, IMHO. Then again, it is that time of year and you may get chased out by gun toting hunters.

On weekends I work in the Kemptville area a lot, and have heard my fair share of gunshots already (thank you turkey season, or so I've been told) just north of Kemptville by the river. I'm guessing the trail is near Scotch Line Road, and it looked like good hunting ground to me, so you might want to wait a few weeks as some farms do allow hunting on their fields. Hell, I saw duckblinds going up in a field just off a major road south of Ottawa this week.

Field hunting ducks and geese is awsome I love it.

The first 3 weeks of Nov are a good time to stay out of the bush unless you are hunting. Griffith / Calabogie the rifle season runs from the 2nd till sunset on the 15th because you can hunt Sundays now in most areas. Locally it runs for the first week , then closes for the second and then opens back up again for the third, hunting on Sundays is allowed in these areas as well in most cases.

All of my hunting days were in NW Ontario, so I'm really not used to being within 20km (at least) of a paved road, let alone within sight of a home, when hunting. Guess I need to adjust my mentality a bit.

I think it's changed this year to 2nd-15th for local WMU's according to the regs (63A,63B,64A,64B,65,58,59,61) and from what the west carleton boys are saying.
And there's nothing like having a flock of geese coming towards you when your in the field with the 12ga. :beer:
