I need help finding out what is wrong with the Blazer. Im going through idler arms every 5 000km. Anyone on here good with diagnosing IFS issues? Need to fix it till I can afford to finish my SFA next year. I thought it might be my tires, but other peaple in the states are running the same setup as me with zero issues.
I did once replace both the idler arm and pitman arm and got an alignment right away. 5k later the idler arm was flopping around again. Im out in Carleton Place, but...

What kind of parts are you using? Make sure your using good parts like Moog. When you crank your torsion bars and put larger tire on IFS it really puts allot of stress on everything and can wear stuff out very fast. Make sure nothing else is loose. Jack up the front end and put jack stands under the control arms. Then check for anything else thats loose. Thats all i can think of. Maybe someone else may know somthing else.

I did use moog. Now I just have the CTC lifetime crap on there. Seems to last the same. I lowered the front from what it was at. The previous owner never had an issue. There was a little play in the origional idler, so I changed it and the leaking steering stabilizer. Since then ive had issues. Everything's tight, except for the idler thats flopping around. And the worse it gets the harder it is too steer.

One thing you can check is that there are no joints binding on your center link and make sure your center link travels as level as possible without torquing up or down on the idler. Like chunky said, jack it up and put jack stands under the suspension tables. Turn your wheels by hand to see if you have more resistance on one or the other. If you have any resistance, you may have to reconfigure your steering links to insure proper movement. If you don't have any resistance, you may want to check the turning radius to make sure that you're not over turning to the point of binding your idler arm.

Hope this is of some help to you.
Cheers!

I checked out that link. Great idea, but I have a 1 piece idler arm. Unless someone can ream it out to accept the 1 ton idler arm. All the movement is where the arm and mount meet.
