Appraisal needed and possible safety (Ottawa area)...?

Hi guys,

I've lurked on here for a long time and finally have a reason to post haha. I just acquired an 87 Land Cruiser and learned of a new requirement for vehicle registration. Apparently if a vehicle was registered outside of Ontario (after originally being registered in Ontario) and is brought back into the province, the MTO needs an appraisal done on the vehicle (as well as the bill of sale).

So all of this being said - does anyone know where I can get an appraisal done? I didn't pay...

Any dealership/car lot can perform apprasials, so if you know anyone who sells cars, they can do it for you. I'd recommend Phil (http://ovo.ca/forums//showthread.php?4018-Club-sponsorship-from-my-used-car-dealership) as he did my appraisal.

I didn't pay a lot for the vehicle so hopefully it won't be over-inflated since I'll have to pay taxes on the price if it's higher than what I paid for the vehicle. Also, the person appraising the vehicle has to have a special "appraisal" permit from the province because I need their registered number for the forms I have to submit.

Does anyone have anybody to recommend? Also, I may (or may not) be looking for a safety to be done to the vehicle...this will require some minor work to be done (axel bolt replacements, some minor electrical work for a front head light and possibly some coolant line replacements, etc.). Any ideas for that too?
