Are there variances between a 1997 and 2001 Jeep TJ body?

Inquiring minds want to know!!!

In all seriousness, i am tossing around the idea of acquiring a new tub for my TJ project due to the rust that i have exposed on each of the corners where the B pillars meet the body. Some major repairs are going to be needed to address this as there are body bracing, roll bar mounts and basically 3 faces all meeting in these two corners. For the price that i could potentially get this tub, it might just cost the same to repair the rust spots!!!

Anyhow...

TJ body

No diff from 1997 to 2002,the change was made in 2003.
The only diff you will find is wiring from a 4 cyl to a 6 cyl , you will have some wiring changes to do , best is get the same tub of what motor yours is.

What would the difference be? Keep in mind i am only talking about the TUB, not the wiring. It'd be completely stripped clean... Are you saying that as a result of the engine differences, wiring (brackets) welded to the tub will be different?

As an FYI, i am looking at a 2001 TJ tub off a 4.0L jeep. Mine's a '97 with the 2.5L

Tub

Most tub changes are little less conplicated changing 4 cyl' to 4cyl' or 6 to 6 ,but if you stripped your whole dash and everything. then install it all in the new tub I dont see any problems. A lot of work but always well worth it .
Good luck, have fun with the project

If you buy that tub are you willing to sell your windshield frame if it's still in good shape.

I'd only be taking the tub, not the windshield.

Are you still looking for a TC (that was you right?):?

That be the one :)

Still a little too rich for my "Spend Cube" however I'll watch it to see if it comes down anymore.. The last few i have been watching were down around the Windsor area... Just too far. This one's not as far. So, now i am just waiting to see if the price comes down to the point that it will be close to what it would probably cost to fix the troubled areas on my '97 tub. We'll see.
