Automatic Jeep???

Ok, this is to all of you Jeep people out there

Lynne wants a Jeep :banghead::banghead:
Needs to be black, automatic and cheap. Not in a rush by any means.
Definatley going to be a TJ for the ride but what else do I look for/avoid?
I'm guessing that the autos only came behind the I6 -- correct?
Probably a mild lift to fit 33s and will be almost entirely street driven but it "may" hit the trail occasionally.

Any advice?

IIRC an auto was available behind the 2.5 as well.

You want a 4.0 anyway. Real world there is no difference in MPG.

Well that meets the black criteria, misses the other two.

Lynne and I both know a stick would be much easier to find but no interest in learning it.
What can I say, she wants what she wants.

Also, only in the info gathering stage at the moment, I've avoided Jeeps for so long, I have no idea of any specific pitfalls (besides the fact that it's a Jeep :flipoff

I'm not up on TJs either but supposedly the 97s and early 98s had a different HVAC system that is prone to issues.

Otherwise it is just a matter of finding one with the right feature set. IIRC the LWB only started in 2003 and may be out of your budget still. You didn't say how cheap.
