Well at least we wouldn't have to worry about loosing trails, insurance, high cost up keep, trailers and tow rigs, storage, body damage, lose of life, run ins with other trail users................................
:lmao:
Yeah, but I'm still trying to figure out how I'll put a child seat in there
Just one?
I would like to get one for my son and I to compete with.
Can we both use the same car to compete with individually?
I don't know what the official rules for big comps are, but local comps no problem, I've seen others do this.
Can I disable rear steer and digs for him to compete in Novice while eventually I compete in the higher class?
I assume I can just disable the servo for rear steer to satisfy the two channel requirement for Novice class.
The classes change depending on the type of competition. Locally we have 2.2 (regular) which allows dig but not 4WS, 2.2 Outlaw which allows 4WS, and Little Rockers both regular and outlaw for younger folks. So I think your son could still drive with or without dig or 4WS, though the local rules keep changing as they see what people want to do.
That said disabling dig is easy, just pull the servo plug.
For 4WS let me say a few words first. 4WS is not in the official rules so locally we created the Outlaw class for these. But you may not see this class in the big comps such as this one, and there are very few people that run 4WS, usually only 2 or 3 per local comp. For this reason I'm going to lock my rear steer for local comps so I'll be competing with more people, and unlock it for playing around as I find it really fun. Then there's how you want to control the rear steer, but I'll leave that for another post or a live chat if you get more interested.
So, if you end up with 4WS and you want to lock the rear, you have to do it mechanically as the servo will still turn easily if it's unpowered.
At any rate, I plan to take my son to this one so we can spectate and see if it is something he can wrap his mind around or not
You can also go this Sunday as there's a local comp, this will be more relaxed and easier to ask questions.
