Hey all,

I'm completely new to all of this, and really don't know where to start. Up until now, I've been living vicariously through my uncle and the rough terrain on and around his property, and through the internet. Lame, I know. My only experience 'off roading' was when I was 16, just got my license, and took my friends for a ride up to a local lake. We took a wrong turn, and I failed to notice that the gravel road turned to dirt, which turned to two tire tracks, which turned to a foot...

Welcome to the forum. There should be some stock level runs occuring in the next couple weeks. Keep an eye out for postings. What type of jeep is it? Make sure you have the required safety gear which is recovery points at both ends (assuming it is a JK I think you do). Also get a recovery strap. Princess Auto in the east end carries them for cheap. Recommend 3" wide and at least 20 ft (30 preferred).

There is a meeting on the 29th at Andrew Hayden park in the west end. Starts at 6:30. The meetings are always on the last Thursday of every month.

Re modifying you jeep; before doing any modifications make sure you talk to the dealer or Chrysler about whether it will void your warranty especially around suspension mods (and get it in writing). They have a tendency to look for any excuse to renege on it.

Excellent, thanks for the tips.

I drive a JK, and you're right, I'm pretty sure I do have the recovery points, I'll double check anyways. I'll do my best to make it to the meeting, but working retail is a pain for that, my evenings don't always belong to me. I'll look into the warranty, and if it's a problem, waiting to make any big changes isn't a big deal.

Thanks again, I'll keep checking back for postings!

Just to clarify this months meeting is at the Cock N' Bull in Bells Corners. We are heading to the park in May I believe.

Check out the Spring Fever event. It is a good way to meet members and try out your rig. It is designed for all levels of rigs, from stockers to buggies.
