Buying a TIG Welder?

I'm thinking about buying a TIG welding machine.

I'm only ever doing the typical hobbyist stuff that we do with the 4x4s and cars. I'd like to start welding aluminum too.

I don't mind spending the coin for good machinery... but I don't want to buy too much machine either.

If you were buying one today what would you buy?

I bought one of the Parker AC-DC combo units - TIG, plasma and stick all in one....
