Can't get play out of the pinion?????????

So I have to replace the pinion bearings on my 2005 F150. So I bought the master rebuild kit from Yukon gears and did all the bearings while it was apart. Well I'm at the point where I need to tighten up the pinion and i think I figured out why they went I have a spacer in the new kit that I never had before. I thought at the start put it back together the exact way it came apart but then the pinion nut bottoms out and things are still loose. So I figured I needed the spacer in with the new...

You may need to put the crush sleeve in a shop press and apply enough pressure to get it to start to collapse. I biult a couple diffs a few years ago, and after taking the threads out of the new pinion nut, I called the supplier. That was his advice. It took almost 10 tons to crush the coller down.

Bones was bang on. I ran over to my buddies place and used the press just to get the crush sleeve started. Worked like a charm the truck is all back together and working great thanks for the help.
