Carburetor tuning

Till Valhalla!
I am trying to "tune" a Quadrajet carburetor and I thought i'd ask here to those who may be experienced with carbs if there is any way to increase fuel delivery without re-jetting?

I have come across a Mikuni HS40 carb which I'm hoping to use on my 1.6L suzuki 8v. any experince? suggestions? thoughts?
