Carp trail this Saturday 20th *Pics and Vids*

I haven't met any one from the forums yet except for Baja, whom sold me a gas tank so if anyone wants to join me on a trail run at carp trail, that would be awesome. I'm just going to check it out and do some recon of the area and the trail. Probably gonna be on the trail around 10am but if others are coming im flexible ;)

Good morning: I would like to join you if I may. I am very new to this: I have a new stock Rubicon and never (I and the Jeep) been off road yet. I live close by off Carp road, few minutes before Carp. I don't know where that trail is .... where could we meet?

If you do Carp Trail, remember that the turn around point is right after the new mud hole. The moment you see a house you must turn around. The first hours is only about 200 yards or so up the trail after the mud hole. This is an agreement between all of the offroading groups and the developer who owns some of the land nearby. We still want access to that trail and deviating from that may make that disappear. We don't need any new enemies.
Also is hunting season still on?

You are good for the carp area (64B). Deer season (guns) ended on the 14th. There is a small window where it resumes Nov.29-Dec.5, but it requies land owner permission, so I presume that doesn't include crown land. Excluding that one weekend, it is still bow season up until Dec.31, so watch out for stray arrows :p

You are all welcome to come, we'll be a newb crew lol

I've got a map and i plan on following as many trails as i can and im going to try to put as many reference points on the map as well. I'll watch out for the cutoff, ive never been on that trail so ill be careful.

For those who arent sure where it is ill send PM's.

PS il be sure to wear some orange :p

and ill be in front of the carp fair grounds at 10am

Unless something unexpected happens between now and then, I will be at the Fairgrounds tomorrow at 10am as well. I just put my Jeep off-road for the first time .... even managed to get stuck in the mud .... had to be pulled out! SO.... my Jeep is now all dirty: I am ready for tomorrow: bring the mud !!!!
NOTE: I have an Orange 4-door Rubicon (with muddy wheels): see you tomorrow.

Think I can do it with only rwd???lol

You could do it in FWD if you did it in reverse :) Ask Kevin (Kunker)

BTW for the stock 4 Doors Jeeps the only spot you may have issues (and it isn't even a sweatable issue) is the little bank right before the new mud hole. It's the one spot the longer wheel base is a disadvantage on the trail.

So we got back not too long ago , i think it was pretty awesome! A few good laughs and some scary moments but all in all it was great.

A big thumbs up for Pierre.Monaco, who helped El Guardia out of the swamped in trail...that moment was all glory! I have a couple pics to put up as soon as i get them all uploaded.

The water was particularly deep in some spots and we never quite made it all the way to the end of the trail..

Pierre going for a look..

El Guardia stuck...taking on water...but Pierre was there to save the day

Good pictures but you may want to visit this website and become famililar with it:
http://www.treadlightly.org/

We are trying to keep the access to the trails we have and not lose them and going off the existing trail and blazing new ones doesn't make us look good. Access to Carp in general is tenuous at best and the developer is itching for any reason to get the city to close it.

We made sure to follow all the rules and the only blazing of trails was done on flat rocks just next to the main trail.
