Yeah, I knew when I wrote that I was asking for a smart ass reply. LoL I guess that measurement is the length of a link then? So not safety chain worthy?

Really should use transport grade, GR70, chain for safety chain. This will be marked on the chain itself and also the hooks.

Good info, Grade 70 transport chain, 5/16", $3/ft at Princess. Works for me.

The chain came from boom chain that held booms,timbers together in logging booms to tow logs down the river.
