Can someone tell me if the Chrysler 8.25 and the Dana 30 bolts for the differential cover are the same thread pattern?
Thanks

Not sure I think they will be unless the Chrysler is metric, simple way is to make sure one threads all the way in by hand

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to avoid taking the bolts out until I have suitable replacements. I have some spare D30 bolts, so I was hoping that if somebody could tell me if they are the same as the C8.25 bolts in terms of length and thread pitch, I could just go to the store to buy new bolts for the C8.25 cover.
If nobody knows the answer, I guess I'll just have to take one out of my C8.25.
By the way, what's the best place in Ottawa to buy specialty bolts, and preferably one that is open weeknights or weekends? I'm looking for bolts that will fit the C8.25, but that are about 1/2" longer, and have a smaller head than the stock bolts. I'm thinking of something that would use a hex key.

don't go hex unless the are protected as when you hit them they will cave in sorta and be very hard to take out .
I would go with regular or button or like an reverse tork ( i know there is a name for it) or even stage 8 without the locks
maybe i am mistaken here i meant don't go with like an allen key type head cause they break easy i find

Take just one of the top ones out, chances you will not break the seal and on the top there is very little likelihood of leaking anyway.

^Yeah, that's what I was thinking of doing.
^^I would prefer to go with regular bolts, but I don't think they will fit with this new differential cover I bought. There doesn't seem to be enough space for a regular bolt head, and even if they do fit, I won't be able to get a socket on the head. I have to say I'm quite disappointed with the cover so far. The last one I ordered from them included the new longer bolts that were required. This time, nothing.
