Any suggestions on how to lift an engine (amc 4.2) and place in an enclosed trailer?
I'm picking one up, but the guy doesn't have a hoist. Can 3 or 4 guys lift it? I have a hoist at home, but it would be a pita to bring along.

If the engine is complete it weights as much as a small block chev which is 50lbs heavier than a 302 if that helps you as a reference. I think ~500lbs, so it is not light, so 4 guys preferably and some way to pick it up like on a couple of poles but make sure the chains don't start sliding or you will lose a finger. Does the trailer have a ramp? When I picked one up it was with a tilting snowmobile trailer and it took 3 of us alot of effort to get it to the point where we could tilt back down.

X2 on the hoist. When I bought my used 3.slow I met the guy in Odgensburg and he brought a crane to move from one truck to the other. Yes, it took some time to jockey crap around in his truck to get the crane out. But, when it came to actually moving the motor, was a breeze.
