Finally out of the garage

Just a few snaps for those that had been asking. :)

Panhard is missing (see other post) hence the front axle being crooked. The edges of the treads should line up under the flares normally. Still stuff to do, that explains the dangly bits.

Probably won't get to do much else with it till next weekend now. :(

Got some Supernerfs and a C-Rok rear bumper that I need to add. I'll need to weld up a rear tire carrier.

Have the over head console computer to add, and then rear storage drawers and installing my nav computer that I've been working on. I want to make a roof rack too.

Getting close to done. My parts cabinets are mostly empty so that is a good sign. LOL

I'm really liking the look of that, great job. I'll have to check out that NAV computer when you finally come out.

Thanks guys.

Richard, I've even started looking at how to mount it in a YJ... :) Latest stumbling block is trying to get it to boot off a CF card. SSD is so cheap now I'm probably wasting my time with that... When the Jeep is drivable I'll be back working on the computer.

Why make one when you can buy my previously enjoyed and lovingly cared for one. :D

Which rack is it?

The problem I've had with a lot of the aftermarket stuff is that they always seem to be so tall. I wanted to do a sort of Xterra looking thing with off-road lights behind the front fairing and "sponsons" for hooking up limb lifters.. We'll see - haven't put a lot of thought into it besides concept sketches.

Its made by Surco (part # S4560) 45"x60" and 5" tall, comes with 2 x 5" round flood lights.

Warning: the following contains computer talk :flipoff:
I'm assuming you're using the CF as a PATA drive with a connector adapter? Then it would be the same as a SSD. Some recent CFs even support DMA, but you need an adapter that has the DMA signals connected.

If that's the case then I must be doing something wrong. I've been trying to get the CF card to format as bootable using FreeDOS and/or XP but things may be getting skewed as I am using these operating systems to create the image in VMs under VMWare Fusion and writing through the emulated USB bus. I suppose it should be writing directly to hardware, or there is a toggle in the Fusion settings or something...

Haven't spent enough time to really investigate. I hate optical media so I'm trying to work around the obvious install from CD routine. I'm trying to crack 100MB with my nlited version of XP as well. :)

Windows doesn't treat USB connected CF cards the same as ATA connected drives, I guess that would have been to simple for them.

You can get SATA to CF adapters too, saw them at work. This way if you have eSata you can hot plug it in.
