Fuel Cells

Ok I am going to need a fuel cell, I wanted to just run a stock in tank pump but that doesn't seem to a common scenario. Where do you mount the external pump so that it doesn't get trashed offroad? Keep in mind that I am enclosed vehicle and don't really want fuel lines inside. It is one of those things I have never paid attention to, who has done what?

Planning to put the cell in the stock tanks location? The pump could mount along the inside of the "frame" or to the underside if the floor.
A shield to protect it against stick & stones wouldn't hurt either.

X2...inside frame mounts seem to be the most common, and a small shield to keep crap out wouldn't hurt.

A good place will be where is the original fuel filter located ; there is no frame in th JC.... unfortunatelly
