Garmin Virb (action cam)

Garmin's new action cam, the Virb, comes out this month. Some interesting additions (display, gps and accelerometer on the elite) and good to have more options in the action cam space.

The heart rate recording feature could yield some interesting results. Nice looking camera, have to see it up close though.

Not for what we do, no. I mean, holy shit, I drove over my Gopro, lol. But I'm excited to see more products in this space. The garmin will turn itself on and off when you are going down the ski hill vs taking the chair up, which is a pretty awesome feature IMO. No more fiddling with the camera, taking gloves off, etc.

Does that mean it will turn itself off on every hill climb and on every time you descend a hill in your rig? Sound like its not really geared towards Motorsport and more towards athletic sports...

I would guess that it's an option you can choose, doesn't make sense for every athletic sport either.
