Today on my way home from work the truck was good until I got almost home and it had a hard time going up a hill. The rest of the way home it wouldn't let me go past about 1/4 throttle.

When every you press the gas more then a 1/4 it would want to die out. At a stop you can rev it to the red line slowly but if to step on it and sounds kind of like a back fire.
I haven't done anything yet expect try a figure out whats going on.
- All vac hoses are good
- No plug wire broke or off

I did...

My first thought would be the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)

When I was in Moab a similar thing would happen after I got off the trails with my Jeep. It was the MAP sensor. Try unplugging it, the computer will stop using it, and if it improves then replace it.

Pretty sure the taco uses a mass airflow sensor no MAP. Sounds to me like either wet distributor cap, or bad wires arcing from all the rain we got this afternoon.... Could also be a plugged catalitic....

Yes they use mass airflow sensors, there's no distributor cap they use coil packs.

I'll have to check the TPS and MAF

No engine light, no codes... I flashed the computer (Unplugged the battery) unplug all sensors and re plugged them. Still the same, I noticed it is a little rough on idle as well.
I have a bad feeling that my rings are going cause I have some oil in the tail pipe but there isn't and smoke.

did you notice if your engine temp went up, i lost all power once in a car, then the temp went up, it was a blocked cat.... when it can't exhaust it starts to heat up.

So the engine light went on this morning. Code P0171 System too lean (bank 1). I changed the fuel filter last night.
I tryed spraying some intake cleaner into the maf sensor to see if that helped didn't do much.
Still having the same problem. Ill try the cat later but not sure what else.

Truck stalled in kempville, can't get it going so ya. Will have to tow it back home and work on it

Was able to get the truck going for long enough to get it to a buddies place.

Once there I read the codes again, man I got a list of codes now.
- P0171, System too lean (bank 1)
- P0300, Random Misfire Detected
- P0301, Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
- P0302, Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
- P0304, Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
- P0100, Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit
- P0110, Intake Air Temp Sensor 1 Circuit

Ya and the truck is worst then before

I had a Yukon in my shop the other day doing something fairly similar.

I ended up cleaning the throttle body, running some seafoam to clean everything up, changing the oil, and then the spark plugs. That fixed his problems. No promises on yours, but it's an idea.

Just because it throws a certain code, doesn't mean that that's the problem. Snowball effect makes it hard to pinpoint the cause.

Hope I could be of some help.

Well the misfire codes and the lean code would suggest a blocked fuel filter or insufficient supply from the fuel pump, or maybe dirt in the fuel rail plugging up the injectors(or a blocked cat).... But the two "circuit" codes suggest a possible wiring problem, did you unplug either of the intake air temp sensor or the mass air flow sensor while it was running?

Pretty good chance it is the Mass air flow sensor, with the codes you have. MAF is likely reading the wrong readings, and over/under fueling cause of this. I'm pretty sure these will not run if the MAF fails or is disconnected.
a blocked exhaust will cause lack of power but will not normally cause a misfire.
to verify if the Maf is working you need a scan tool or lab scope.
very common for the MAF to fail on toyota's

Worked on the truck a bit this past weekend. Nothing has changed really.
I checked the MAF with a multimeter, it seems to be reading within spec.

When the truck is idling and you unplug the maf sensor the truck dies, is this right?

But I need to figure out why I have oil in my intake, do you guys have any ideas why?

pcv valve for the oil in the intake. yes it should die when unpluged
never tested one with a multimeter, need to check the maf with the vehicle running.
