I have a really silly question I think I already know the answer - Rims and air

So old military Hummer's can inflate and deflate there tires without ever leaving the cabin.

is there any product out there, or special rims that are available on the market to do that? I think it would be pretty nifty.

No. The central inflate/deflate system is determinated by the axle construction.

My understanding is that the CTIS is more of a PITA than it is worth. Easy to get banged up in the bush, seals or whatever need regular maintenance/replacement, etc., etc. It's one thing when Uncle Sam is paying for the parts and labour, something else when it is your wallet.

CTIS is a piece of crap. Unreliable and fails often.

My experience with CTIS (and it's extensive in it's military application) is that it can sometimes be a PITA but for the most part is a good system and works. I know that the systems in the LAV's can be problematic but the system that is in the humvee is good, anything will fail if not maintained regularly. Not sure that it is practical in a weekend wheeler. Way too many components to worry about, just get a good OBA system and be done.
