So. The issue is I went in for an oil change at oil changers and they gave me trouble for having oil leaking for the second time i came in (i didnt know)

they told me my rear pinion is leaking (i am a official retard at cars, daddy didnt teach me shit )

I am not sure on Jeeps specifically but if it is just a seal you can usually change them on the vehicle, just need to remove the flange and drive shaft. though you will not get the pinion nut off easily without a impact. that said, if you are not sure, best to get it checked out by a mechanic, such as Mitko. If pinion seal only is gone relatively cheap to do, but could be more, if bearing is gone. if it is leaking, you should get fixed before filling it with crap and causing the bearing to fail, and worst case screwing your complete differential.

The differential is the lump in the rear axle, and the seal is behind where the driveshaft connects to the axle as shown by the diagram Mitko posted. The plug usually has a brass washer behind it for the seal, if you messed it up or lost it your plug will leak.

TJs are notorious for pinion seal leaks. They aren't expensive but can be tricky due to the crush sleeve if you have a Dana 35 (not sure if later versions still had it).
