Hey guys, so my brother recently put some 32 inch Dick Cepek Mud Country tires on his 04 suburban. Clearance was fine, but he wanted more. So he bought a 3 inch complete body lift kit.

How long does it really take to install one of those kits? And does anyone know any place that we could rent a lift by the hour? Help and information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch guys.

my best guess would be it shouldn't take more than a full weekend to put her in - that's allowing for stubborn bolts (start soaking them in breakfree now) and a couple cases of beer. I wish i had a lift everytime i have to go under mine! goodluck!

Keep in mind that you may also run into issues with shifter cables, steering column, anything else attached to the body that runs down to the frame.

One of the mags I read suggested loosening all of the body bolts, then using a jack with a 4x4 on it's side (to spread out the load) to lever up one side at a time to put the lift pucks in.

Good luck.

Yeah the kit comes with the brackets for bumpers, extension for the steering column, etc. kit weighs about 100 pounds packed into a small box haha.

I was hoping someone would have a lift, because the weather wouldn't be nice to work in.

I will however, take the advice and spray a penetrant on as many bolts underneath as I can find.

Thanks for the advice guys!

last one I did took about 10hours, most of the bolts came out but a few were a pain, the truck was only 3 years old. Be prepaired for some mods with the brackets, some fit great others require just a bit of tweaking
