hey everyone,

i just found this site. I bought a 2000 Jeep TJ 4cyl back in June 09. I'm currently running 31" Goodyear Tracker 2 just cuz they are all season. I wanted to get the RC 2.5" lift and some 32" but i'm skeptical about the 4cyl being able to handle it.

The 4 cyl would be fine......I ran one with 35's for awhile before re-gearing.....you will probably lose 5th gear but that is it.......

That what i am running. 4cyl w/35's (See my link in my signature). Albeit i am swapping gears for this season to 5.13's..... It's all in how you drive it!

since i have 31" tires on it now, do you guys think 32" tires will be that bad without re-gearing? will i still lose 5th gear? or should i just stick with the 31"

I'm running 33"x12.5" on a 2.5 TJ and have no problems at all, mind you I've only had it a few weeks, but it still runs along the highway pretty good.

Mine is running 31's on stock gears. I plan for the next tires to do 33's. Right now it is fine. I do have to downshift on a hill though. I think it also depends on what your gearing is as well. I believe the I6 and 4 have different gearings.
Edit: I6 has 3.07 with 3.73 as optional. 4cyl come with 3.73 as standard. I would expect you should be fine with 32's

I thought the 4cyl's came with 4.11.

You will be fine with going to a 32" tire.
