Hello All

For those that have the JK's just wanted to relay my experience, have an 08 Rubicon Unlimited. My ball joints went less than 50,000km. Guess they are plastic composite inside...Chrysler will replace them under warranty but you get the same stock ones back in. I elected to get it done after warranty since my stock BF Goodrich tires also wore out in about 20,000 km for the most part so have to shell out for 4 new tires just before the holidays since they would be unsafe for...

Its a chrysler thing. They can't make a suspension. They all fall apart.

As for warranty. Don't bother with Capital dodge. They suck ass! Trust me on that. Go to arnprior or Renfrew chrysler. Well worth the drive.

Just a note, have had 3 things covered under warranty done on my Jeep, worth seeing what you can get done from a dealer first before shelling out if you have a lot of other expenses at the same time.
Here's a long term solution...

Wow, good to know about Capitol Dodge. My fianccee and I bought both our Jeeps there. Actually 3 of us where I work did. We got a wicked deal. I still have warranty on mine or I wouldnt have bothered. I plan on taking advantage of it, why not! I have a couple of issue and I will definately try Arnprior. The ball joint above have also been recommended to me.

I took my Jeep to have some warranty issues sorted out at Metro on Richmond. Zero issues and they didnt even give me a hard time about the modified JK.

300$ for ball joints !?! I thought IFS was supposed to be bad! 20$ a joint for a Chevy, and I've been beating the hell out of my Tahoe for two years with no problems at 6000 pounds. I guess mileage must be the killer. I've only put 18 000k on in the last two years, but that's with 35's and lifted. High quality joints may last longer, but what is killing the stock ones? Bad b joints wreck tires, someone must have a solution.

Those BJ's that danny posted are HD and meant to last, built stronger and last longer than ones you would buy at the parts store. $20 a ball joint! I've bought a few in my time and they've never been that cheap - in fact i wouldn't trust a $20 ball joint! I plan on replacing my BJ's when they go on my dodge with the dynatrack ones (warrantied for life) as Matt stated, chrysler and suspension leave alittle to be desired
