So, in my quest to find a 4.10 ratio Eaton HO72, I have been into Kinney's and looked at everything and spent hours walking around Ed's Salvage in Arnprior with no luck. Plenty of 4.57 and 5.14 axles to be had, but nothing in 4.10. I am running out of junkyards!

Does anyone have recommendations for out-of-the-way yards that might have 67-72 Chevy pickups or any kind of old parts? I am going to visit Falls Metal and Iron in Smiths Falls, they might have some, but I am looking for other...

For Sale: hd dana 44 front axle with the big bearing outers and flat top passenger side knuckle 4.56 gears

Eaton 14 bolt rear end (HO72) with matching 4.56 gears. basically a early 14 bolt rear with a drop out third member. it has a 10.5 inch ring gear and a one ton capacity. It is a full floating rear end just like a corp 14 bolt. it also weighs 200 lbs less.

Have your tried Stephen's on Fernbank (think it's Fernbank)?

They has some Chev/GM stuff of the correct vintage - or used to anyway.

Awesome! Thanks guys. I called Stephens on Fernbank. He has a couple old Chevys, one of them is 8 bolt single rear wheel, keeping my fingers crossed. I will let you know what I find. Stittsville is pretty close, that would be fantastic.

There is another wrecker just west of Perth. It is on a road near where the Harley dealer is (was?) and the rail line runs close to the section of straight road on Hwy7 with the center passing lane (IIRC). Goes north from there. I've never been in there but they had a lot of old crap out front. Been meaning to make a field trip of it if I could track down exactly where it was again.

I think your talking about Garry Allen's yard in Glen Tay. He wouldn't have anything like that around. He just crushed most of his stuff. I see him about 6 times a day and he usually tells me when he drags something interesting into his yard so I will keep my ears open.

Glenview in Smiths Falls won't likely have anything. They are mostly a scrap yard rather than a wrecking yard.

There is also Ashton Station Automotive on Hwy 7 beside Cavanagh's Yard. The guy is a bit of a dolt but has a heep of axles in the yard. The driveway is easy to miss if you've never been there. To the left of Cavanagh's yard is Shed FX, the driveway is just to the left of that.

Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up... Most of these yards have hauled off a lot of old stuff so it is getting harder and harder to find trucks like these. Hopefully I can find what I am looking for at Stephens tomorrow morning (in the rain... again...)
