So I'm going to buy a knuckle rebuild kit from TrailGear.

Knuckle Service Kit, $75, 140006-1-K
Wheel Bearing Kit, $39, 140007-1-K
or
Knuckle Service Kit w/ Wheel Bearings, $145, 140017-1-K,

the math doesn't work out.
regardless, It seems the recommendation here is do NOT use the bearings from Trailgear. which should I use???

Tell me the make/model/year of the vehicle and I'll look up the bearing numbers

(or you could do it yourself at www.timkeninfo.com)

Then call Kinecor (on Belfast or Industrial I think)

And order the beraing seperate. Ask for Timken (USA) ir SKF of FAG bearings.

That wheel bearing kit only does one side, so you need two, hence the math...

Just HAD to be an '85 eh?!!

In Aug/Sep 1985 the seal changed.

Anyway:

Inner Bearring: JLM104948/JLM104910 (that's cup and cone numbers)
Outer Bearring: BR50 (that's a 'set number" - will include cup and cone

Seal:

1979 - Aug 1985: 24635

Sep 1985 - 1995: 25968

Those are all SKF numbers. Prob. cross directly to Timken numbers.

I trudged into the snowbank and looked at the plate inside the drivers door.
My truck was built in APR 1985
