LF rear Dana 44 5x4.5" with 4.56 gears

Grand's are aluminum AFAIK, you are looking for one out of an XJ (87 with towing option IIRC) or a TJ. You may also want to consider looking at the Ford 8.8 as another 5x4.5 option with good strength. Don't know if they came with 4.56's from the factory though.

Ya, been looking into it. 87-89 XJ/MJ or a TJ. Found gears and a carrier. Then I just need to get a locker.

Thanks for the help. I also wanna go D44 for whenever I go to waggy axles. I can swap all the gears/locker/carrier into the waggy rear axle.

Ok... So apparently while waiting for the kids to ring in the new year, I finally did some research.

Looks like I am going to go (if I can find one) a 97 & up chrysler 8.25" LSD carrier to replace my locker till I fix it. Worse case I get an open carrier and get a lockrite, or auzzie locker for it.
