Local Roll Cage builder?

Well, It looks like the "Tool" that i made the arrangements with regarding my large swap of parts has decided to bail on the last (But most important to me) item, that being the roll cage, citing the infamous "My wife won't let me" line.... Fawker....

In any event, I am now back to the drawing board regarding acquiring a full roll cage for the TJ build. Since i do not weld (Although i will someday darnit!), i am looking for a custom build or if that does not pan out, buying a pre-cut kit...

FWIW, i am looking for a full roll cage that would be built based on:

Although, i am still on the fence regarding the 5pt harness bar... With or without, the rest is what i am looking for.

if you have a bender and a shop, I may help you. I used to work for northeast performance, a hotrod fabrication shop, and had lots of experience building NHRA approved cages.

Thanks for the offer. Here's what i have and what i don't have :p

I have a shop with 240v with plenty of room with heat

I don't have a bender, notcher or welder. Nor have I ever built anything out of metal.

The TJ is in pieces so bringing it somewhere to get it fabbed up is not an option. I'd love to work with someone and learn A) how to weld and B) bend pipe. Pricing out various parts that i have left to buy (Roll Cage, Front bumper with stinger, Rear bumper with swing down tire carrier,etc...) and it can get expensive. I have always been one to do it myself if i can. Problem is that i have not had the exposure to welding/bending and so....

There were a few things i wanted to get out of my TJ build:
1 - I have always wanted to tear down a jeep and rebuild
2 - I have always wanted to learn how to weld
3 - I have always wanted to work in depth on engines (This will come later, once the 2.5 blows :)

Hopefully i can find a way to satisfy #2, as opposed to simply buying the kit from the states, have it shipped to Ogdensburg, go pick it up and then have someone weld it in place for me!

Cheers,

J

If you would like,
I can come by and get some measurements and build you what you want on the computer, figure out what you need as far as materials,
show you how to weld,
give you some pointers on your tear down/rebuild,

Then if you are satisfied, I'll bend it up and weld it on-site.

Only problem, I only have a 1.5" die for my bender, if you are serious about doing your cage/bumper-stinger/tire-carrier I'll buy another die.

Let me know what you would like to do.
If you'd like to call me and talk I'll PM you my number.

Thanks,
Jason.
