Actually my brother used to have a toy one. It worked not bad lol.

Sadly, it would appear that I "lost" an outlet in the shop. I'm 99.9% sure that the fine folks who did the drywall covered up an outlet, and I'd really like to find where it is. Unfortunately I didn't actually map out or take pics. The cheap non-contact voltage detector I picked up doesn't work for sh!t either.

My grandma has one at home you can borrow.

If you dangle an extension cord in front of the wall it will naturally curl up when you come across a hidden outlet.
