Hey guys I am new to posting but have been lurking for awhile. Anyways I got myself a 97 GC , once I get it on the road I may want to put 32's on it. How easy are these to lift to get that size tire on it.

Thanks

Welcome skareb. The zj's are pretty easy to lift. Cheapest way to get 32-33" tires is a front to rear coil spring swap with spacers and new shocks. Check out Iron Rock Offroad online. You will also need at minimum a front track bar adjustment and alignment. Death wobble (google it) is possible depending on how worn out the rest of your suspension/steering components are.

Do you have the full-time tcase (np249)? If so you might quickly find out that the viscous coupling in the tcase has seized so you won't have any slippage in full-time 4wd. Tires will chirp and bind in corners after things are warmed up. Many GCs with the full time np249 are floating around with the front driveshaft removed to disguise this issue. Otherwise its a very good tcase and one of the stronger units used in the Jeep lineup. Many swap it out for a part-time np231 or 242 but if you do enough research and evaluate your needs and driving the 249 is plenty strong and great in the snow.

Good luck with your repairs, hope to see you on the trails...I'm hoping to get my zj out this year as well.

Sorry should have been more specific with my set-up. It's got selec-trac and inline 6, it's an limited if that makes a diference. one thing I wanted to know is what gears are in it and if it is limited slip. I have know clue how to check,I checked for tags but theree were none.

Good combo...the inline 6 is very reliable. Several Cherokee members in OVO...check out the build threads for ideas. They share essentially the same front end as the Grand.

I don't have the link off hand but I know you can email Jeep with your VIN and they will send a build sheet for your rig. If I had to guess you probably have 3.55 gears.

x2 on the 3.55's, you can also go to any chrysler dealer with your VIN and they'll punch that info up on the computer.
