I've been to Dwyerhill just last weekend. AKA "The Pit". We stay away from skidoo trails and stick to the unmaintained roadways. It's awesome and other than som offroad tires, my truck is stock (chevy Tracker). Take a look at Ottawa 4X4 trails on facebook. I figure once I gain enough experience, i will be able to hangout with the big boys over here. :)

Cheers!

To the Noobs...
NEVER WHEEL ALONE... Thats the first rule... Always be in a group of rigs of 2 or more... (Preferably more) or you will find yourself in alot of trouble when the shit hits the fan while yer 20 some odd kms away from civilization.

Everyone comes home... This is the second rule... No matter how long it takes to extract a freinds 4x4 everyone that runs with you, everyone WILL make it home and safe... Where it's warm... And someone has a hot meal for you... (It gets fawkin cold out there when yer stuck)

Go prepared... this is rule #3. Food... water... tow strap or winch... warm clothes no matter how hot it is that day... Pack like a day camp or even longer. (In case you violate the first 2 rules.)

And the saying... "Hold my beer... I wanna try something!" is a definite way to know you will be in trouble. Cause something bad WILL happen.

And for following the big boys... Don't do it unless you know for sure you can and will make it through...

Learn well... and enjoy... We try hard to shed the "redneck in a big truck" image from years past... Some of us are IT guys and mechanics as well... But we all have our teeth... (I think)

Anyways... I thought I'd throw some humor out there but these are also true facts... Behave and share the trails... Move over for guys on quads and bikes and allow them the right of way... They move quicker... And if you see someone on horse back.... DO NOT honk the horn to say hello... Shut it down and let them mozy on by.
