What are people running. General rule of thumb seems to be avoid Fram.

Does anyone know who OEMs the Canadian Tire filters?

Where can you buy Wix or Mobil1 filters? I don't remember seeing them at CTC but who knows...

I am using Mahle, you know why. And honestly why to avoid Fram? I was using them before when still driving NA vehicles. What is wrong with them?

Wix are available at Benson's. When I wrenched full time many moons ago (1998), Wix was suppling most of the delco, and mopar filters we used. Back then if you cut opena Fram and Wix filter there were many differences. Paper filter media was thinner and less surface in the Fram. The Fram also used paper end caps (wix is steel)to close of the top and bottom of the pleated paper.

I remember, years ago, CTC had Fram part numbers on their CTC filters. Leads me to believe Fram made them. Dont know if the still do.

Yes CTC filters are Fram. Napa sells Wix filters as well. The Wix filters are better constructed inside than Fram filters. Better springs to hold the filter element and better designed bypass valves.

I just put one of those Fram high mileage filters on. No going late on the interval this change.
