Oversize spare tire carrier HELP !!!!

Hey everyone,

I have a 95 YJ with a factory spare tire carrier with a home made rear bumber that is wider than a factory bumper.... So this means that my new bigger tire will not fit on the carrier. It will not get over the bumper.

Soooo, I am in need of some suggestions that can help me to get the spare on my jeep that won't cost me a bloody forturne... The tire is a 31 inch BFG AT... Nothing huge but still too big.

Help and suggestions are very much needed... I am mounting my new tires...

you could use a peice of steel plate, drill some holes that will bolt to the exsisting studs and then put some studs up higher, should give you the extra clearence that you need.

Another simple idea for tilting it, put a few washers under the bottom mount bolts (on the body) to tilt the whole mount.
