Paint question....

Hello all....

I just bought a new front YJ fender that I need to have painted.... Because my rig does not have the factory paint I would need to have it scanned for the actual paint code.

Anyone know of a place that does this. I am wating to get it scanned and also buy the paint from them as well.

One more thing.... How much paint and hardener would I need for just one front fender ??

Thanks again

Danny

Any NAPA should be able to scan and mix the paint for you.

50$ of black spray bomb cans would work perfectly and the whole jeep would be the same colour.. but thats just what i'd do.. lol

Napa and CarQuest i think it is?

Cmax. they're the autobody division of Napa. they're just off Innes on newmarket.

you won't need more than a pint of paint for your fender and won't need hardener unless your running a single stage which I don't recommend if your trying to get the colour bang on (otherwise, your looking at a 3:1:1 ratio depending on the type of paint). even after scanning, you won't get a direct match and it'll stick out like a sore thumb.

if your trying to get the colour dead on to match the rest of the panels, you will need to go base/clear and blend the colour into the next panel (the door and possibly the hood). If your looking for a professional job done, I may be able to help.
