Plastic Vs. Aluminum Fuel Cell

Just looking at fuel cells and there is quite a price difference between plastic and aluminium. So what is the downside of the plastic?

The downside is actually the aluminum. They will eventually crack. I think most (if not all) the race organizations require plastic

To expand, they require bladder in a box style, Plastic or rubber inside steel enclosure

Aluminum is fine as long as it is mounted properly, most of the cracking comes from people just using the locating tabs to mount them, you need straps...

That being said, if cost is an issue, nothing wrong with a plastic tank...
