press questions

looking at doing an axle swap and taking on doing a regear myself.Ideally I would like to borrow somebodies press but I may pick one up of the price is right.Crappy tire has a 10 ton on sale for 162 when normally 270. the nice thing is it looks to be somewhat compact so it may work. question is will it or should I be looking at 20 tons instead.
or does anyone have collecting dust in their garage that I can borrow?

Ummm presses don't work well for side gears, you need one of these for the Dana at least http://www.yukongear.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProdID=5277

Thing with press's the more money you spend the better the press like anything. On cheaper ones the frames are really flimsy.
Also for this like pressing bearings onto shafts length is an issue.
But with enough scrap, adapters and sockets you can pretty much make do with any press.
