What are you thinking for the engine?

Rebuild or SBC are probably the two easiest options.

As I stated in the thread. this spring I'm going to fix the 22re thats in there now.
I just got a complete set of gaskets and new head bolts in.

I have been thinking a lot about different engine combos. I really like the idea of going diesel. what's SBC?

Thanks for the Sticky Adrian!

Scored a MINT set of FAST wheels and 31" tires for street use.
A buddy bought them late last summer for his 91 Toyota pickup but bought himself a 2008 Tundra. NICE ....huge truck.
anyway he gave me an awesome deal on these wheels and tires.

after a bit of delay I'm getting ready to jump into this project.
I ordered my knuckle rebuild kit, high steer, IFS mount and rear locker from PJF4x4. Talked to Danny there. Nice guy. was honest. steered me away from things I don't need to start out. He won my business.

My Plasmsa cutter/Tig welder is in and on the way to my place. all i need is an argon tank and to install 220v in my garage.

Dealt with PJF some, no complaints. What locker are you getting?
Not getting a lift? what size tires will you run off road?

i have 63 inch chevy springs in the back and 87 toyota rears for the front. We'll see how much lift that makes but its quite high i think.
I have 35 inch BFGs to funtime :)
I afraid of what my frame will look like once I start cleaning it. I may end up searching for one.

I ordered a Lockright. thats what they have is stock. Danny said there is no difference from Aussie locker. they look the same in the web pix....

anybody have a Toyota frame that is in good shape they could part with?

Of course it can. but thats a lot of work I'd rather not have to do.

Good Toy frames are hard to come by around here, they are ususally bad or worse. With all the work of swaping everything over onto a new frame I'm not sure you'd save any time or effort with swaping frames. If you get a really good one (completely rust free), it'd be worth swaping, otherwise I'd fix the one you have. This is unless you have already stripped the truck to the frame, but since you said it is running, I'm guessing it is still complete.

Your best bet would probably be from an IFS truck and have to swap in the solid axle. You could then find one a few years newer.

I don't blame you for trying though.
