Well, I thought I would start a build-up thread to hopefully motivate me to get my truck build before Spring Fever, So here it it....

I am going to tube the front using the original Scorpion and F-Toy as my inspiration:

Everything in Dark Grey will be new, built from the existing flat bed forward.

I spent 2 1/2 hours this Sunday tearing down the front:




Plans are for the rest of this month is to do some needed maintenance to the motor, such as Head Gasket and Valve Seals, then start bending tube in April.

Just ordered the Head-Gasket from Toyota - part# 11115-42021

They wanted over $7.00 EACH for the valve seals, and since there are 24 of them that is $170.00 for some rubber o-rings LOL.

As usual, Keith came through for me and got me Altrom ones through NAPA for under $2.00 Each.

Well, I will take you up on that :) According to the online guide to replacing the seals it is a two man job.

I was hoping to get the head off this week and cleaned up, then back on sometime over the easter holidays.

As for doors, I have a whole bunch, some perfect, some not so much ;)

Oh. are you using stock head bolts? or ARPs?
I have a bunch of bolts. You can have Jeff's old ones.

I was going to use the stock bolts, I have no real intention on Turbo'ing it so should be fine.. If you can bring some extra, would be good...

Damn, now I keep remembering I have that turbo manifold sitting around :lmao:

Because its a well known fact that:

power = fun

If we have to do the same operation to both sides of the equation then you can see that:

MORE power = MORE fun
