Quebec Jeep XJ

I had an XJ I was going to be picking up but it sold before I could get there so I'm in the market again trying to find one. Must be Quebec plated or owner willing to get it safetied.

88-2001 year range in the 1000$ price range. I'd prefer a 97-99 but am willing to go pre-96.

I dont expect to find much in the ottawa area because of the inflated pricing here but thought I could give it a try and see if I can pick one up this week.

Is there a technical reason for a $1000 XJ? You aren't going to find much anywhere for that kind of money that isn't going to have issues (i.e. need $$$) to resolve.

$2k-$4k might be a better long term strategy.

The reason for the 1000$ amount is because in montreal you can get a decent Jeep XJ with moderate mileage(200 000km range) and no rust. Since the 1000$(rough amount) is how much I would pay there for something with worn tires and maybe bad brakes but other than that good to go, thats what my budget is around here.

I do appreciate your input and in this area that is 100% right but in Montreal thats what you can get.

Just keep looking, I was looking for awhile and found one for $800 in good shape with 172,XXX km's. The only money put in it was mods and upgrades (31's, lift kit, top basket...)

Found one that I like for about 1000$ with 190 000km, 30s, roof basket, and full spare. The only issue with it is that its camo painted. trying to decide if I should paint it if I take it, its one of 3 im going to take a look at next saturday.
