I need to replace my front pads this spring and figured I would also do the rotors as well.
Looking on JeepForum, they recommend EBC Yellowstuffs brake pads and Centric Premium rotors. However they are hard to find in Canada and the only place I have heard of them here is from No Limits and they want $204 for them. I could get them in the States but anyone here had good luck with specific pads and rotors? I find the ones I have right now work but the pads are needing replacement.

Funny, when I was talking to the guys at No Limits, they steered me away from the EBC stuff and recommended any quality semi-metallic pads with OEM rotors.

I was under the impression that they don't normally carry EBC so it isn't really a surprise they wouldn't recommend them. Plus the Yellows are more geared for "racing" uses while the greenstuff was more for road. One of the guys on JeepForum is some legend in the Jeep aftermarket stuff and had done some testing on brake pads and found the Yellowstuff performed better than their greenstuff and other pad manufacturers especially on bigger tires.
The quote I got for the states was $130 for the yellowstuffs and $45 per rotor for the Centrics.

You really want to spend "big" money on stuff that will get scored/pitted the first time you drop into a mud hole?

I'd do OEM or equiv... Maybe spend a bit of money on the pads but I wouldn't bother with the rotors.

That was why I asked here. Jeepforum has the mix of people who go into mud and ones who don't. I think for the ones who are purely on rocks ebc is a good choice for aftermarket but I figured for exposure to mud it may be kind of a waste. The Centric Rotors are not much more expensive than OEM.

I just buy at PartsSource. Basic rotors, upgraded pads. Never been unhappy with the braking performance.

And that's what they recommended to me at No Limits too. The EBC's on my car don't have that much improved a feel than the stock pads that came on it, and certainly weren't worth the extra $$$.

I figure I am going to go through PartsSource, that was where I got my steering box and brake pads for the libby. The EBC were pricey and figured I would get some sensible advice. Especially with mud I would figure it may not be worth it. The Centric rotors aren't expensive just the pads

I think the only time you will really benefit from the EBC pads are if you upgrade your callipers. You won't find any difference in the upgraded rotors. I say just get the good pads and cheap rotors at Bensons/ partsource. Then buy yourself lunch with the extra money you saved with the cheap rotors.

My opinion.
