The Ottawa Valley Off-Roaders is pleased to announce the 2012 OVO's Spring Fever which is set for Friday evening on May 18th, Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th.

Primitive camping is the same as previous years. We will be camping-out at the Calabogie Dam (Mountain Chutes Dam) grounds once again, so make sure you read the directions on how to get there!!!

Kicking the weekend off, Friday evening, will be a night run. Departing the camp area at 7:45pm sharp. This is stock friendly, but has...

Can you fix your message above then? And just to be clear it's the weekend AFTER the May 2-4.

Message above is correct, maybe you need to refresh your browser? It is the long weekend. (Monday May 21st is the holiday)

Hi,
I am looking forward to attending this event and looks like a couple of us from the GTA will be attending. I just have a couple of questions about the event.

1. What exactly is "primative" camping
No Porto-Potties? Access to drinking water?
2. How far away is the closest local store/fuel?
3. When does the camp ground open on friday?( I will be taking friday off so I may arrive before dark)

Thanks

Colin

1 - it is crown land that is controlled by the mountain chutes power station, not a campground as such. - There are a couple swimming holes near by but you should pack in your water. We will be having porto-potties on site.

2 - Closest fuel/food/etc is in Calabogie, about 20 minutes away. It is usually a good idea to bring out a jerry can of fuel with you.

3 - Our land use agreement covers Thursday afternoon to Monday evening, so come out anytime.

Welcome!

1. Primitive enough - no water, showers, power, etc.; porto-potties available, no access to drinking water.
2. 16 km.
3. Friday morning.

If you do send a direct PayPal payment, let me know so I confirm that I get it. I'd also need to know which person on the reservation list I'm applying it to.
